Family-Centered Early Supports and Services is a program that provides services to children from birth to age 3 who have established conditions, developmental delay (at least 33% in one area), or who are at risk of substantial developmental delay. The purpose is to enhance the child’s growth and development, as well as to provide the family with assistance and support. A developmental evaluation is required to determine eligibility for Family-Centered Early Supports and Services. In the greater Manchester area, (Auburn, Bedford, Candia, Goffstown, Hooksett, Londonderry, Manchester and New Boston), the evaluation is done by Easter Seals. It must involve at least two evaluators, and address the areas of physical, cognitive, communication, social/emotional, and adaptive (self-help) development. The evaluation is done at the child’s home, and any ongoing services provided either at the child’s home or where the care of the child is provided (if in Region VII). In addition, families of children determined eligible may access Family Support services through the Moore Center, Region VII’s Area Agency. All referrals to Family-Centered Early Supports and Services, by State regulations, are made through the Region VII Area Agency. To make a referral, or for more information, contact Jenny Todd at 206-2806 or email her at elizabeth.prince@moorecenter.org.
