Compassionate Life Coach/Roomate Needed!

Position: Live-in Life Coach/Mentor
(no experience necessary – we’ll train you)

Compensation: Approx $40k to $50k  Annually

We’re looking for a live-in Life Skills Coach for a 26 year old woman. She is very independent but needs supports around daily living, transportation, making decisions, being safe, medical care, and budgeting.  She is currently living in her own, two bedroom apartment and as her Life Skills Coach you would live with her and have your own room and share the common areas.

This could be set up either as a live-in provider model, as mentioned above, or a staffed residence where several staff would share the responsibility. Provider stipend would be $50K plus/year, staff would be a negotiable hourly rate. Depending on the model of support, health care benefits may be included as well as other benefits such as a rent-free scenario where a Life Skills Coach/companion would pay only utilities.

She would do best with a female provider.  She’s working toward becoming more independent and hopes to live on her own in the future. She would like someone who can help make community connections and explore new activities and experiences. She also needs assistance in focusing on a healthy lifestyle around diet and exercise, meal planning and preparation, and grocery shopping.

More About Her

She has a wonderful sense of humor and loves to laugh. She works part time and attends college courses at a local college. She enjoys living in a clean environment and does enjoy having pets. She likes to pamper herself by getting “spa” type treatments and takes great pride in her appearance.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assistance/oversight of scheduling appointments for medical needs
  • Providing the support required to help her achieve her goals (see above)
  • Transportation to/from appointments, work and school
  • Providing a caring, compassionate and supportive home environment
  • Being an active mentor/positive role model
  • Ability to Validate Emotions and provide re-direction
  • Experience with Borderline Personality Disorder a plus

The Moore Center will provide extensive training and support, and funding for respite is also available.
