Advocate NH is hosting their 5th Annual Self-Advocacy Conference on May 5th in Concord. This is a full day conference with several spotlight sessions discussing different aspects of self-advocacy. These sessions include advocating for one’s own financial needs, learning to meet new friends and build relationships with others, learning about rights and responsibilities related to individual services, sharing thoughts and feelings about self-determination with service providers, and strategies for putting one’s best food forward.
Moore Center clients that participate in our Rising Stars and Dream Catchers 2.0 groups are presenting at different spotlight sessions throughout the conference, and we are very excited for this opportunity for them!
The cost is $30 per person, and Direct Support Providers that attend while supporting clients receive free admission. The Moore Center is sponsoring the conference with a $1,000 scholarship which will allow 33 Region 7 clients to attend the conference free of charge!
