The Moore Center loves our DBT Art Therapy Group! DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) is the practice of self-regulation, identifying and accepting feelings (mindfulness) and using your thoughts to change those feelings. Art Therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses a creative process to explore emotions, thoughts and memories in an active process. Our skilled therapists lead our clients through this wonderful art therapy program!

Traditional talk therapy can be challenging for individuals that struggle with verbal communication skills. A more active, creative approach can help an individual explore and express his or her feelings in a safe environment that is less stressful.

The goals of our DBT Art Therapy Group are to utilize the evidence-based foundations of DBT/Julie Brown Skills System to increase emotional regulation skills, increase core mindfulness skills and increase distress tolerance through various expressive activities. Our clients enjoy being able to express themselves creatively through all of the different art projects they work on in each session. Check them out!
