The Moore Center was thrilled recently to have volunteers from UPS visit our day program and add a fresh coat of paint to a Community Based Services classroom
Community Based Services is one of The Moore Center’s primary programs that supports and enables those in our adult programs to be contributing, independent members of the community, to determine safe and healthy life choices and to establish meaningful relationships with peers, family and friends. The Moore Center believes that all individuals who want to work should have the opportunity to explore, develop and succeed in meaningful, community-based employment or other community participation. Community Based Services provides community-based day and employment services for adults with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries. A component of services includes an enrichment curriculum, providing educational and enrichment opportunities from music therapy to proper nutrition. Our classrooms are used for a number of activities for our clients but most importantly for the aforementioned purpose.
