The Moore Center has been awarded a grant for $10,000 from The TD Charitable Foundation, the giving arm of TD Bank, in support of one of its primary programs, Family Support Services. The program supports over 1,100 families in the community who have a family member with an intellectual/developmental disability and enables them to care for their loved one at home. The grant will specifically allow family members to receive respite care that may include extra support for daily tasks, hiring a provider for additional care, and the ability to take some time away to manage stress. This support is critical to keeping young families as well as elderly parents who care for an adult child out of crisis situations.

“Families who have dependents with an intellectual or developmental disability live with enormous pressures and challenges above and beyond the day-to-day stresses that average families face,” said Maureen Rose Julian, vice president of individual and family services at The Moore Center. “We are tremendously grateful to the TD Charitable Foundation for their generous support which will directly impact and improve the lives of so many of our families who may simply need a little extra help on a temporary basis.”

We are very excited about this donation and give a big thanks to TD Bank and TD Charitable Foundation!
